This is not a suitable project for a first attempt at miniature knitting


Materials required:

Christening robe -** 1 pair size 19 (1 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 50 metres/55 yards 1-ply wool or cotton, narrow ribbon for waist, small button or bead for neck, lining material for skirt (optional). 1.00 mm crochet hook for neckband (optional).

Dress with short sleeves - 1 pair size 19 (1 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 25 metres/28 yards 1-ply wool or cotton (this will be enough yarn to complete bonnet as well), narrow ribbon for waist, small button or bead for neck, lining material for skirt (optional). 1.00 mm crochet hook for neckband (optional).
Note: When making either version of the dress for a Heidi Ott baby doll use size 21 (0.70 mm) needles and to give a more open lacy effect use No. 80 crochet cotton or No 70 tatting thread. A smaller crochet hook will also be required.

Baby bonnet – 12 metres/12½ yards 1-ply wool or cotton, one pair size 20 knitting (0.90 mm) knitting needles, 6 inches/18 cm piece of thin ribbon for ties.
Note: For a Heidi Ott or very small baby doll use size 22 (0.80mm/US size 6/0) knitting needles and use No. 80 crochet cotton or No 70 tatting thread.

Shawl - 1 pair size 19 (1 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 75-100 metres/82-108 yards 1-ply wool or cotton

Gauge: Gauge is not important as dolls house dolls vary in size

Approximate finished sizes:
Dress
2½-inches/6 cm high x ¾-inch/2 cm wide at chest
Shawl 5-inches/12.5 cm square
Bonnet ½-inch/1.25 cm tall
