Materials required:
Size 1.00 mm (No 10 steel U.S.) crochet hook, 35 yards/30 metres No 80 crochet cotton or a thicker wreath can be made using a No 20 crochet cotton, 1-inch (2.5 cm) ring – if using a galvanized ring with a gap, glue the two ends together with a glue that bonds metal before commencing. Small red seed beads for holly berries, ⅛-inch/2 mm ribbon for bow.

Finished size: 1½-inches/4 cm diameter

Gauge: this is not important for this project, as wreaths can be any size

This wreath could also be made in Autumn/Fall colours

For Intermediate crochet workers – not suitable as a first pattern in miniature crochet

Additional notes

  1. The construction of the wreath uses techniques commonly found in Irish crochet work
  2. If using a galvanized ring with a gap, glue the two ends together with glue which bonds metal and leave to dry completely before commencing the wreath.
  3. The second photo shows wreath made with No 20 crochet cotton, the other photos show wreath made with No 80 crochet cotton
