1:12th scale Ladies Coat Set c 1960s
Materials required:
Coat – One pair size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, one pair size 14 (2.00 mm/US size 0) knitting needles for trim, 81 yards/75 metres 1-ply wool in main colour, 14 yards/12.5 metres 1-ply wool in contrast colour, stitch holders.
Hat - One pair size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 6 yards/5 metres 1-ply wool in contrast colour, thin cord or contrast wool to form trim and bow.
Skirt - One pair size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 28 yards/25 metres 1-ply wool in contrast colour, elastic (optional).
Sleeveless jumper- One pair size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 28 yards/25 metres 1-ply wool in main colour small amount of wool in contrast colour for neck.
Full set - One pair size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, one pair size 14 (2.00 mm/US size 0) knitting needles, stitch holders,108 yards/100 metres 1-ply wool in Main colour, 54 yards/50 metres 1-ply wool in contrast colour, thin cord for hat bow and piece of thin elastic for skirt (optional)
Approximate finished sizes:
Coat- 1½-inches/4 cm wide at chest, sleeve 1-inch/2.5 cm long, height – 4-inches/10 cm
Jumper - 1-inch/2.5 cm wide at waist, 1¼-inches/3 cm wide at chest, height – 1¼-inches/3.5 cm
Skirt - 1-inch/2.5 cm wide at waist, height – 1½-inches/4 cm
Hat - ½-inch/0.75 cm wide by ½-inch/0.75 cm high
Gauge – Gauge is not important as dolls house dolls (like humans) vary greatly in size and proportions
