Materials required:
Victorian Counterpane - 0.60 mm crochet hook (US size 14 steel), No 100 crochet cotton (or No 80 crochet cotton which will make a slightly larger square), if these are not available use good quality sewing cotton. Backing fabric if required. Cellular blanket - 1.50 mm crochet hook (U.S. size 7 steel), 82 yards/75 metres 1-ply wool (or No 20 crochet cotton), ½-inch/1.5 cm wide satin ribbon to bind top and bottom edges.

Finished sizes:
Counterpane for double bed: 7½-inches/19 cm by 6-inches/15 cm approx.
Counterpane for single bed: 7½-inches/19 cm by 4½-inches/11.5 cm approx
Blanket: 7-inches/18 cm by 6-inches/15 cm

Gauge – Rounds 1-2 = ¾-inch/2 cm diameter. Each square measure approx 1½-inches/4 cm across
