A classic hat and scarf set gets an elegant update that’s all in the details: trim twisted-rib edgings, a fun faux-fur pompom and a rich, glossy finish in merino/silk Venezia Worsted from Cascade Yarns. Worked in the round from the ribbed brim, the hat is knit in an allover pattern of alternating twisted cables. The cable crossings end when the crown shaping begins, which contributes to the slouchy fit. Knit in the same allover cable pattern, the scarf is also worked in the round, which creates a reversible piece and eliminates the need to reinterpret the cable pattern while knitting. For a witty twist, the deep ribbed borders are left open at the ends to resemble sleeve cuffs.
