#15 Baby Jacket
Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, Spring/Summer 2007: “‘I designed this sweater nine years ago, when I was expecting my second baby, my first and only girl. I loved the idea of a very feminine, classic baby-girl sweater done in a tine gauge and in washable wool. I’m happy for the chance to recreate it in luxury fiber so I can share it with expectant mothers and with grandmothers who want to make a special heirloom gift. This time I hose a slightly chunkier yarn to make the stitching go a bit faster. The added luxury of using a silk-blend yarn makes it a joy to knit.’ Embroidered flowers and leaves grow atop seed-stitch borders on Rose Orne’s pretty jacket, in Classic Elite Yarns’ cashmere/silk ‘Posh.’ The main body is done in a textured pattern with garter-stitch ridges and has puffed caps at the set-in sleeves.”
“Baby jacket with flower embroidered hems and single button closure. sized for newborn, 6 months and 9 months and shown in size 6 months on page 75.”
