Knitted coat in stockinette with vertical columns of slip-stitch. Single-breasted with seven buttons; button and buttonhole band facings may be interfaced if desired. Ribbed collar and cuffs.

Pattern is written for midcentury sizes 12, 14, and 16, which correspond to bust sizes 32 (34,36)“/81 (86,91)cm. Ease is appropriate for a slim coat (actual measurement at bust for size 12: 38.5”/98cm).

Pattern specifies 16 balls of yarn - for all sizes, apparently. Original yarn has long been discontinued. No information was given as to yardage, but the yarn label, as seen in vintage lots offered on eBay, states that the skein weight is 50g and fiber content is 80% wool, 10% mohair, and 10% vinyon. The yarn is labelled both Welcomme (the French spinning company) and Unger (a U.S. company).

Different needle sizes are used for main garment, ribbed edges, and trims.
