Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, Winter 2007/08: “Shirley Paden’s va-va-voom shaping happens along the curved front edges of her box-stitch jacket, ribbed at the borders and shawl collar. It’s worked in 100 percent camel-hair ‘Blithe’ by Classic Elite Yarns.”

“Standard fitting jacket in box stitch pattern with wide ribbed shawl collar and corded seaming, turn back cuffs and single button closure. sized for Small, Medium, Large and shown in size Small on page 84.”

  • Small (Medium, Large)
  • Bust (closed) 36 (39½, 43)”/91.5 (100, 109)cm
  • Length 21 (21½, 22)”/53.5 (54.5, 56)cm
  • Upper arm 14½ (14, 16)”/37 (38, 40.5)cm

Materials:

  • 20 (22, 24) .88oz/25g balls (each approx 128yd/117m) of Classic Elite Yarns Blithe (camel hair) in 360675 white (A)
  • 2 balls each in #60685 brown (B) and #60686 cinnamon (C)
  • One pair each sizes 7 and 8 (4.5 and 5mm) needles or size to obtain gauge
  • One each size 5 and 7 (3.75 and 4.5mm) circular needle, each 60”/150cm length
  • Waste yarn, stitch holders
  • One 1¼”/32mm button

Additional Gauge: 26 sts and 32 rows = 4” over k2, p2 rib using size 7 (4.5mm) needles
