The leaf inset and garter stitch from this empire-waisted cardigan combine for an interesting edge instead of the usual ribbing at the sleeves, neck, and bottom. The instructions state that 3.5-4.50 mm needles are required in order to achieve gauge for the 2 different fabrics.
