1920s Knit Tie by Needlecraft Magazine

1920s Knit Tie

Pattern description from Knitting America: “This pattern comes from Needlecraft magazine, August 1924. Fancy patterns for ties knit with ‘artificial silk’ (rayon) appealed to knitters. Ties looked best - and resisted stretching - when knit flat, folded, and seamed up the center back. With no gauge given, knitters were advised to knit a small sample and then ‘rearrange’ the numbers of stitches required for the desired width. Needlecraft, August 1924.”

No yarn, needle size, gauge, yardage or sizes given in this pattern.

This pattern may be found in the book Knitting America by Susan M. Strawn, published by Voyager Press in 2007 on page 119.
