This wrap is both practical and beautiful. It may be wrapped around shoulders once and secured with your choice of button, pin or brooch or twice as a cowl type garment.

If you are new to cables you may find a bit of a challenge, however there is more than enough to interest the seasoned cabler. Each of the cables and twisted stitches are defined on the same pages as the instructions.

This pattern offers both written and charted instructions. If you are new to charts do not be too concerned as each of the panels is colour coded and the chart has arrows to show you which way to read it.

Cables give the garment stretch which creates a snug fit. This is called negative ease. Think of it as “shrinking” the knitted fabric.

The designer has taken the path of using only one size of needle. This is balanced out by increases occurring at the end of the ribbing section.

A couple of notes on needles

This pattern is worked using 5mm /US8/UK6 needles although the yarn label states 4mm /US6/UK8. This is because a larger needle will give the garment drape.

You could use straight needles that can hold up to 88 stitches or use circular needles about 60cm or 20 inches.
