The pattern states it can be knit as either 6 month or size 1. Since this is a vintage pattern I would expect the size to run a bit on the small side compared to today’s sizes so if you choose to knit this piece keep that in mind.

This sweater is knit bottom up with back, front left side, front right side and sleeves knit separately then all joined together with a yoke at the top of the sweater. The sleeves and underarms require seaming. The piece is finished with some single crochet around the front edge and blanket stitching around the buttonholes.

This is a girls sweater but could easily be adjusted for boys by switching the sides on which the buttonholes are added (if you care to do so).

The tam is knit flat but could easily be adjusted to knit in the round. It is finished with pom-poms and ribbon but would look just as cute without them.
