The Legend of Korra was a sequel series to the award winning Avatar: the Last Airbender cartoon. The characters featured on the squares are Raava, the spirit of peace and light, and Vaatu, the spirit of darkness and chaos. They are very much the embodiment of Yin and Yang, which makes the use of double knitting particularly awesome for this character.

Note that this pattern has options for different sized squares by using different weight yarns (sport, fingering) and corresponding needle sizes (3.5 mm, 2.75 mm), as well as both knitting and crochet instructions.
