Pattern is Japanese but fully charted using standard crochet symbols. Direct link to pattern PDF.

Materials:

  • Japanese size 8/0 crochet hook (5.0mm)
  • 15g (18.7m) color A
  • 15g (18.7m) color B

No gauge is given in the pattern.

Notes: The line under each sc (X) means to sc into the back loop only.

The pattern is 18 stitches wide. You begin with ch 19. For each odd row (except the first) you change the color (if doing it in two colors), increase the first sc, and decrease the last sc. For the even rows you decrease the first sc and increase the last sc.

After row 20, you can slip stitch the top and bottom rows together. Then you can make a running stitch along each side and draw them in together securely to close the holes.
