From McCall’s Crochet Treasury, March 1977: Scalloped Shawl - Soft scallops, descending layer on layer, form a deep semicircle of luxuriant warmth. The shawl is crocheted in panels; the scallops are worked in simple chain stitch and double crochet.

Size: 56” wide x 32” deep, plus fringe.
Materials: Sport yarn, 7-2 oz. skeins, aluminum crochet hook size H.
Gauge: 4 dc = 1”; 2 rows = 1”

Gauge:
Each motif should measure 6 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep

Motifs are worked in strips, each with a different number of motifs to make the triangular shape. Sew strips together and add fringe to finish.

Ed. note: Fringe pieces are 16 inches long. Be sure to reserve enough yarn for the fringe.
