This coaster set is a perfect way to use up leftover fingering-weight yarn!

Each leaf-shaped coaster uses less than 13 yards of yarn and is knit from the wider bottom to the tapered top in one piece. Knit five coasters to make up the perfect set for gift-giving or self-gifting!

Four little lace leaves are framed within each gently shaped coaster. A Garter stitch edging is knit in and gives each piece a neat finish. Both written and charted instructions are included.

For a slightly larger coaster, you can try knitting this design in a dk-weight yarn on size 7 needles. (I knit a dk-weight coaster that measured 4 ½“ wide by 5 ¾” long and used approx 17 yards of yarn.)

Either way, this is a beautiful way to stash bust and use up those gorgeous leftovers. A mix and match set of different Madelinetosh Tosh Light colors would be quite lovely and elegant!

Yellow set shown is in Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in #183 Candlewick; purple set is Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Night Bloom; beige coasters are dk-weight Knit Picks Swish DK in Squirrel Heather.

Other suggested fingering-weight yarns listed above.

GAUGE: 23 sts = 3 ¾“/ 9.5 cm and 42 rows = 4 ¾“ / 12 cm in lace, aggressively blocked
