This cozy and warm hat knits up quickly and very satisfyingly in super bulky yarn and size 11 needles!

The textured stitch pattern is easy to work and integrates beautifully with the bottom ribbing. A simple 4-stitch front cross technique is used to mimic cable crosses throughout.

Finish the hat off with a fun, jumbo pompom using what’s left of your hat yarn plus a contrasting color from your stash. Or leave the hat as is.

Hat is knit in the round from the bottom up and uses exactly one skein. A great option for those last minute unisex gifts or for knitting up a bunch of gifts in short order!

Pattern is both charted and written out.

Sample is knit in Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Bulky. Other super bulky weight yarn suggestions listed.

Approximate Total Yardage Required: Super bulky weight yarn, for Hat ONLY: 110 yds / 101 m; for HAT + Pompom: 125 yds / 115 m + approx 15-20 yds of another yarn for 2nd color in pompom.
