This very first published pattern was designed thinking of how to introduce knitting beginners in shawl knitting. Actually when I started knitting shawls about a year ago, I felt pretty much discouraged by the growing number of stitches I had in the end and because of that I almost never followed the instructions until the end.

This is why I chose to design a shawl which starts with a certain number of stitches that decrease while knitting.

The second thing about this shawl is that I wanted it to be a compromise between a shawl and a scarf. Large enough to keep the shoulders warm when needed and long enough to be used as a scarf when it gets cooler.

These are the two reasons why I called it 2.0 Shawl

As I said the Shawl was designed thinking of beginners but it is also a great pattern for all the more experienced knitters who need an easy and mindless knit.
