This fun and funky hat is knitted in 4 panels with triangles that form the top when the panels are sewn together. To give the hat its unique look, you randomly change stitch patterns and colors as you knit, working with only one color at a time, and make each panel different. This is made in 4 panels so that you will have a mix of colors next to each other without needing to use the Intarsia technique--so it’s easier to make! Instead of sewing in all of the yarn tails at the end, they are used to embellish the hat, giving it a very textural look and funky-fresh feel! The pattern gives you the information on how to make the hat, and suggests different stitch patterns (with how to knit them). Since you decide what colors and stitch patterns to use when, you can make your hat as simple or complex as you like. It is worked on size 7 needles using 4 colors of hand-dyed worsted-weight yarn totaling 3.5 oz. The 3rd photo shows Nancy Thomas & Adina Klein in their hats that they made, showing how everyone’s hat turns out differently, depending on the stitch patterns and colors that are used.
