Front, back and sleeves are knit flat then joined together on a circular needle so the yoke is knit in the round. Garment is finished by seaming the sides and sleeve underarms. Charts are provided for the yoke colourwork bands. Body is knit straight with no shaping.

Sizing chart indicates 2 inches ease allowed as follows:

Size 12 Sweater measurement at bust 34” to fit body measurement 32”
Size 14 Sweater measurement at bust 36” to fit body measurement 34”
Size 16 Sweater measurement at bust 38” to fit body measurement 34”
Size 18 Sweater measurement at bust 40” to fit body measurement 38”

Bernat Real Shetland (1 oz pull skeins) - 7 (7-8-8) Gray Mix (MC), 1 each Navy (Colour A), Wedgewood Blue (Colour B), White (colour C) and Opaline (Colour D).

This sweater was designed by Elizabeth Zimmermann for publication by Bernat. As described in her book Knitting Around Bernat modified her seamless circular knit design and re-wrote the instructions to knit flat and seam together four pieces.
