90 Degree Socks
Socks for him or her

I wanted to create a fun and easy to knit sock pattern that emphasizes the beautiful and seemingly endless sock yarn choices available to today’s knitter.
The 90 Degree sock is a perfect design to use when knitting socks using your favorite team or school colors. While the pattern is written for only 3 sizes, I have included several tips for customizing the size. The use of well placed short rows allows the sock to fit snuggly around the ankle while providing enough room for the calf.

Sizes:
S/M/L circumference of mid calf measurement 12 (13, 14”)

Materials:
Yarn: fingering weight Sock yarn, the sample was knit using 55g each of Malabrigo Sock - Natural and
Zauberball - Frische Fische

Needles: 2 (24” or longer) circular needles size US #2 / 2.75mm, set of 5 DPNs size US #2 / 2.75mm

Gauge:
28 sts by 56 rows = 4 inches or
(10 by 10cm) in Garter Stitch

Miscellaneous: waste yarn for provisional CO, tapestry needle

Errata: In Section 1 row 19 should read row 20 and following rows need to shift by 1. This change does not affect the usability of the pattern.
