Calls for Japanese hook size 8/0 (4.5mm) for the crocheted ones and size 10 knitting needles (5.0mm). Gauge is different for all four of these.

Ring-crocheted tawashi: pattern at top of PDF where it says リング編みのたわしちゃん. Gauge 12st/11rows in 10x10 in pattern stitch 1 (sc through back loop only) and 12st/9rows in pattern stitch 2 (“ring stitch” - I’m sorry, but I don’t recognize that name - presumably it’s how you get the little loops on one side of the mitt).

Crocheted tawashi: pattern in middle left of PDF where it says カギ針編みのたわしちゃん. No gauge listed.

Grid tawashi: pattern in middle right of PDF where it says 方眼編みのたわしちゃん. Gauge 13st/5rows in 10x10 in pattern stitch.

Garter stitch tawashi: pattern at bottom of PDF where it says ガーター編みのたわしちゃん. Gauge 14st/24rows in 10x10 in pattern stitch.
