Don’t you remember the great story of the Velveteen Rabbit? Little boy loved his stuffed rabbit, loved it dearly. Then the little boy gets sick and practically everything he owns, clutched at, held for comfort, including the stuffed rabbit, had to be burned so the boy wouldn’t be sick again once he recovered. However, with the magic of love, the little bunny became a real bunny, sped on through the woods and lived on.

That’s how I’ve been feeling lately. Like a little boy. I’ve been ill, and in the process, everything I’ve clutched for dear life is being destroyed. So, here’s my bunny, my rabbit, come to life to speed on through the world and become real, loved, and magically on his own. I purposely made one ear slightly off to the side, a sign of his approach of quietness, of his tenderness, and of his sympathy.
