I love Aran sweaters and their mesmerizing cables. This cowl is inspired by them, but it is much quicker to knit! Its tapered shape allows it to lie gracefully around your neck while providing a neckline that is neither confining nor too loose. The decreases gradually change the shape of the cables themselves, making the finished product look more complicated than it really is. The result is an accessory that you can grab whenever you need just a little more warmth.

It can be done in color, or in two. You can alter the size either by changing the gauge, or by adding or subtracting multiples of 24 stitches.
