This pattern is created to be simple. It is ideal for multiple types of yarn. Knitting with a variegated you get wonderful texture and unusual patterning. With a basic yarn you get a wonderful foe texture of 1x1 ribbing without the decrease issues that can occur.

If for some reason your gauge is drastically different from the gauge in the pattern this is an easy pattern to increase or decrease yarn and needle size to fit your needs.
