A Cute Isosceles is, as the name suggests, a triangular shawl with a difference! Thanks to the acute angle at the top, the triangle has an elongated shape.

The two lace borders in contrasting colours give this elegant shawl a beautiful, sophisticated appearance - creating a shawl which could either be worn over a formal dress or used to dress-up a casual outfit.

Any garn from lace to fingering may be used. The 2 original shawls I made were both knit in lace weight and each weighed under 60 grams (ca. 2.2 ounces).

The centre of the shawl is knit in stockinette. The shape is created through short rows, with detailed instructions on how to work these (so that it is also suitable for beginners). The lace sections are charted.

Skills needed:
Lace from Charts
Short Rows (detailed description given for German Short Rows)
Picking up stitches
Weaving in non-working yarn.

ERRATA: On Pages 2 and 3 of the pattern is written to pick up and knit stitches from the “straight” edge of the border. This should actually read from the “left” edge of the border.
