The inspiration for the colorway and for my design is “Tree of Life” by Gustav Klimpt. The title comes from the term describing this series of paintings as ‘Golden Landscapes’. For my Golden Landscape 1x1 cables are utilized to give the appearance of abstract trees.

Details:These striking mitts begin and end with a simple 1x1 ribbing. Thumb shaping is included to make them comfortable and well fitting. A charted and written motif on the body of the mitts is set on a reverse stockinette background. The mitts are mirror images of one another.

I designed A Golden Landscape to be knit without a cable needle as multiple cable crossings happen on each round. Instructions are provided on how to accomplish this in the pattern. More on that technique can be found on Knitty scroll down to the ‘Cabling without a cable needle’ section.

Sizes: S/M (M/L)
Finished measurements: 7 (7.75) inches circumference by 9 inches length. These are meant to be worn with negative ease.

Yarn: About 290-350 yds of single ply merino

Needle: size 2/2.75mm DPNs or 1 long circular in each size.
