If I’m not knitting or engaging in some other fibre craft I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon than sitting down to read a good book. Tucked up in a comfy chair, book in hand, I am
ridiculously happy. Add in an oversized cup of tea and a slice of cake and quite frankly I’m set for the whole afternoon. I designed these socks to celebrate just such an afternoon and marry it up
with my love of stranded colour work.

Cuff sizes:
Small - finished measurement 20cm (8in) to fit leg 26cm (11in)
Medium - finished measurement 23cm (9in) to fit leg 29cm (12in)
Large - finished measurement 25cm (10in) to fit leg 31cm (13in)

Foot lengths:
3-11 UK
5-13 US
36-46 EU
22-29cm

To give you an idea about how much yarn you may need for these socks for the sample size (small cuff and 23cm foot) used 176m/ 192 yards of the main colour and 120m/131 yards of the contrast colour whereas socks knitted with a large cuff and 29cm foot used 288m/ 264yards of the main colour and 232m/ 213 yards of the contrast colour.

As stranded knitting is considerably less stretchy than stocking stitch you will need to be very careful with your tension, floats should be kept loose and I recommend checking at regular intervals that there is the required amount of stretch to allow the sock to fit over your heel/ around your ankle.
