This cowl is feather-light and delightfully soft due to the beautiful Rowan Alpaca/Cotton yarn. It uses a pretty lace design and a few beads to create something stylish and fun to wear. I love to wear simple cowls like this to brighten up a t-shirt or to close the gap at the neckline of my coat.

If you don’t fancy alpaca, use your favourite 4ply/fingering yarn instead, preferably something with a bit of a shine. The samples shown are:

  • Deep Teal - Rowan Alpaca Classic. We used 23g - (approx 1 ball).
  • Raspberry - Hand-dyed BFL fingering (400m/100g). We used 40g. You will also need approximately 100 size 6 or 8 seed beads.

Skills Used: knitting in the round, simple lace stitches (k2tog, ssk, CDD and yo), beading, stretchy cast on and bind off.

Many thanks to test knitter Claire for her time and expertise.
