A Lot of Chains Scarf is truly an easy beginner pattern. Only Chain and Single crochet stitches were used, and several scarves could be made in only one day! I used one skein of yarn to make the scarf in the photo. I rolled the skein into a ball by holding both ends of the skein together while winding (by hand.) “I Love This Yarn” is very soft, so you would need to wind gently so as not to stretch the yarn. Use your imagination by combining different colors or yarn weights for a lighter or heavier effect keeping in mind that a smaller or larger hook might be needed. I also used Redheart Super Saver in “Fall” and “Blacklight”. I worked with two skeins side by side so I did not have to roll it into a ball. I joined the ends and wrapped it around twice for a different effect than with the “Citrus Punch” yarn (which does not have joined ends.) I have also used cotton yarn paired with a thinner ply metallic yarn (sport weight) and it worked as well as the acrylic. This pattern could easily produce a custom made scarf - a one of a kind original to fit a favorite person in your life.
