A pair o’ gloves,
A pair o’ gloves,
A most ingenious pair o’ gloves.

My brother Karl is a bit of a theatre junkie. He says he wants to be a doctor, but really I think he wants to be an actor.
When Karl was in high school, he played the Pirate King in our school’s production of The Pirates of Penzance. So when I saw Knit Picks Imagination had a colorway called Pirate King, I knew I had to make something for Karl.
The title of the pattern is a play on the title of a song the Pirate King sings in the show.
The gloves have a somewhat tight fit, which allows the wearer to maintain manual dexterity necessary for swordplay. If a looser fit is desired, the gloves can be blocked out before wearing.
