Ready to make a sweater? With its simple, stockinette stitch body accented by a few contrasting garter stripes and easy round-yoke construction, this is the perfect first-sweater project.

The wide neck and loose fit make it perfect for layering over a collared shirt (or not!) It’s designed to be worn with 4-5” (9-13 cm) of positive ease (meaning it should be 4-5” (9-13 cm) larger than your actual body measurements). See the schematic for finished measurements.

The back neck is raised slightly with short rows. There is no waist shaping, but you could easily add some if you want to.

In the photos, I’m wearing a size 34.

You’ll need 5 (5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7) skeins of the Main Color and 1 skein (all sizes) for the Contrasting Color.

Notions:
stitch markers (4)

Skills Used:
joining/working in the round
m1 increases
short rows (photo tutorial included!)
cable cast-on
k2tog and ssk decreases
picking up stitches from waste yarn
picking up and knitting from bound off stitches

Shown in colorways “A Pointy Reckoning” (main color) and “Abigail” (contrasting color). (Bonus points if you can name the play these colorway names reference!)
