A Second Slant on Double Garter
As most double garter, sliding needle knitters will tell you, there’s something addictive about this simple yet lovely style of knitting. The same hold true for designers of double garter, sliding needle patterns — at least it does for us. Creating the scarf “A New Slant on Double Garter” was such fun that we were bitten by the double garter, sliding needle bug. This time it’s a shawl, with the same look as the scarf, but with a slightly different, but still very simple technique.

It’s all done in garter stitch, so it’s quick and easy, and the finished product is a beautiful blend of fluffy solid colour ridges hugged by rows of variegated stitches. Nobody will ever guess that a shawl with such an intriguing design was produced with so little effort.
