Gauge for this pattern is not important.
Working with the S hook is a bit tricky at first but once you get the hang of it your project will be completed before you know it.
Keep stitches “loose” - don’t loosen them but make sure they retain the same size loops that the S hook defines. It is easy to pull the stitches so that they tighten up and you don’t want that to happen in order to maintain uniformity and effect intended of each stitch.
Any bulky yarn can be used
Weaving in the ends to complete the scarf can be a challenge, to keep the weaving hidden. Make sure to start with an extra length of tail when you make your beginning slip knot and then leave an extra long tail upon completion. That way you’ll have plenty of yarn to weave into those large loose stitches and the chance of the ends finding their way loose is less.
This scarf makes a nice cowl too, if you’re using a partial ball of yarn. I used a remnant of angel hair from another project, it was approximately 2/3 of a full ball. When there was a few yards of yarn left at the end of a row I just joined the ends of the scarf with slip stitches and the “cowl” was done and very nice looking (see pattern link for photos)
