Children need to feel important, there has to be something a symbol of some kind that is just theirs , for all of you when I made mittens there was a symbol embroidered or knit in. As you got older it went on the inside, it was my way of saying these are from my heart to yours. Give you children each a symbol. when you were little it was shamrocks, I know it was easy, baby born on feast of St. Padraig, when you were older you and I had another, the snowflake, it didn’t matter where in the world you were or what time it was the call would come at the first snowflake, either I called you or you called me. We would share hot chocolate , sometimes we would talk sometimes it was just comforting listening to you breathe. But always were the calls and symbols made with love.
