A-Tension Span is a reversible hat worked at worsted weight gauge with yarn held double. This pattern is great for those leftover sock and worsted weight yarns.
Hat can be worked 3 ways; 4 strands of fingering weight held double OR 2 strands of fingering weight held double and 1 strand of worsted weight, OR 2 strands of worsted weight.
Hat is worked from the bottom up, knit-side out with alternating sections of “knit/purl 1 below” (fisherman’s rib). This creates a squishy, stretchy hat that still has structure. Colors are worked in stripes every other round. One side of the hat will result in knit stripes, the other will result in marled stripes.
This is an intermediate knit and a great introduction to fisherman’s rib since it is worked in small doses.
