With a nod to the classic American novel A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, this super cute little vest is perfect for keeping your little ones on-trend this holiday season. A satisfying seamless knit in worsted weight yarn; you’ll be amazed how quickly this knits up. The front pattern band is achieved using a simple slip stitch pattern, with no stranded knitting required. The vest is made in one piece from the bottom up, picking up stitches for the patterned front bands and around the armholes.

You will need heavy worsted or chunky weight yarn in the following quantities:
MC 170 (190, 210, 240, 290 // 330, 380, 420, 470)
CC 25 (30, 30, 35, 35 // 40, 40, 45, 50)

Local yarn store Brooklyn General was one of my favourite hangouts when I lived in New York. The owner, who is also a midwife, delivered all three of my children, so I’ll always feel connected to Brooklyn General and to that little corner of the world. If you’re in the US, pick up some Brooklyn Barnwool to make this vest - you won’t be disappointed by its bouncy softness and lovely palette of colours.
