Using DK yarn and 3 mm needles this illusion knit came out measuring 84 cm by 58 cm (33 inches by 23 inches). It is intended to be used as a wall hanging or as the centre for a throw or bedspread.

The view itself is across the River Thames, looking towards Westminster Bridge and The Houses of Parliament.

A View from The Thames is a further look at creating illusion knits of recognisable landmarks and joins The Great Pyramid as another such knit in the Woolly Thoughts collection of illusion knits.

I used Stylecraft Special DK in Midnight and Silver (about 1.5 balls of each). Illusions work in any thickness of yarn.

The third photograph here shows the illusion knit when viewed from directly in front.

The pattern now includes an extra chart intended for use by tablet users but others may find it helpful. You can view 20 ridges at a time and always be able to see the numbers across the bottom of the chart. Never lose your place again!
