A Wee Nativity: Manger

Running Jack Knits
Knitting
December 2010
Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi)
US 5 - 3.75 mm
This pattern is available for free.

The Manger is a part of the Wee Nativity. It is worked partially flat and partially in the round from the bottom up, and the hay is knitted separately.

Yarn: This project is ideal for small amounts of leftover yarn. The manger uses worsted-weight wool and the hay pictured is handspun thick-and-thin cotton. You should not need more than 20 yards of any single yarn.

Supplies:

  • 4 US size 5 double-pointed needles
  • tapestry needle

Gauge: Gauge is not that important. Use needles that give you a reasonably tight fabric and you should be all right.

Finished Measurements: The manger will measure approximately 3.5 inches long.
