Mary is a stuffed doll and part of the Wee Nativity. She is worked in the round from the bottom up, with i-cord arms and separately attached hair and head covering.

Yarn: This project is ideal for small amounts of leftover yarn. Mary as pictured uses worsted-weight wool for her clothes, sport-weight cotton for her arms and face, and sport-weight wool for her hair. You should not need more than 20 yards of any single yarn.

Supplies:

  • 4 US size 5 double-pointed needles
  • polyester fiberfill
  • tapestry needle

Gauge: Gauge is not that important. Use needles that give you a reasonably tight fabric (so there’s no fiberfill escaping) and you should be all right.

Finished Measurements: Mary will measure approximately 4 inches tall.
