This pattern was was requested by my son. He wanted a winter scene vest for Christmas 2014. I liked the idea of a quiet village sleeping under the snow under a full moon.

This pattern has a chart and instructions. It has only the one size, which is for a 26” / 59 cm chest and 17” / 43 cm length.

I used Knit Picks Palette fingering weight yarn in the following colors:

(1.) Cream or white, 1 skein
(2.) Silver (medium grey), 1 skein
(3.) Marble Heather (dark grey,) 1 skein
(4.) Black, 2 skeins
(5.) Midnight Heather (black/blue), 1 skein
(6.) Navy, 1 skein
(7.) Blue, 1 skein
(8.) Blue Note Heather(dark blue), 1 skein

Vest is knit in two pieces, front (intarsia) and back (stockinette). I found that I had two different gauges. The front gauge is: 30 stitches over 36 rows = 4 inches/10 cm. The back gauge is: 25 stitches over 38 rows = 4 inches/10 cm.

Skills to complete this project: intarsia, stranding, twisting in colors so that the stranding is no more than 3 or 4 stitches long, corrugated ribbing, duplicate stitch and S2KP.

Please Note: Chart for Santa and Reindeer are designed by another designer on Ravelry. I have added a link to her, and her chart in the instructions.
