This shawl was knit as a breast feeding or nursing cover up. It can be worn as a scarf/shawl until needed, making the wearer look like a genius mom.

This shawl can be knit in any weight yarn, however sport weight was used for this one.

Lace pattern is only on right side rows, and purl return rows, making it a great carry along project.

The pattern is written to use up as much as possible of your precious beautiful handdyed yarn. Do as few or as many repeats of butterfly lace as you desire.

Needles: 3.5 mm/US 4 minimum 44cm/20 inch long circular needle, suggest using a 120cm long needle if you like to stretch out your work and admire it as you go. If you use another weight yarn use the largest sized suggested needle size, gauge is not critical for this pattern.
Yarn: Fibra Natura Yummy which is a Sport Weight 370 yards/130 gms, any yarn can be used and knit until almost all gone and then cast off, eliminating wasted beautiful hand dyed yarn.
Tools: Yarn needle to weave in ends, stitch markers to mark each butterfly repeat.
Gauge: Not critical for this pattern, however mine was 21 sts in 10cm or 4 inches
