Mighty Oaks from little acorns grow…
An old English proverb reminding us even the biggest of achievements have their beginnings in the tiniest spark of idea.

I am so lucky to live in a beautiful forest full of majestic oak trees - some of them grow up to 50m tall! It was while crunching through a carpet of fallen acorns on a crisp autumn morning that the tiny seeds of inspiration for this hat (and the matching OAK SHAWL) were sewn. The simple lace pattern - suggesting row upon row of acorns – the stretchy tubular cast on and slightly slouchy shaping, makes the hat light and easy to wear; perfect for autumnal forest strolls!

If gauge needle is different, smaller needle should be one size down eg: if you need a 4.5mm needle to get gauge, smaller needle should be 4mm.
