To great excitement in our house, the new series of Dr Who started last night(1). With a new ‘monster’, the Adipose babies. Dr Who Confidential explained they were cgi-ed but also they had a couple of knitted ones on set. Ooooh. I have white wool, hmmmm … so after a quick rummage in the oddments box I made one. Crocheted rather than knitted (as it’s quicker and I find it easier to improvise in crochet), I worked on it while we watched the ‘old’ Dr Who & the Daleks episodes.

This is more of a guide than a fully formed pattern. Yarn, hook and tension (gauge) are not specified. I used DK weight yarn (11 wpi) with a 3.5 mm hook but any yarn would work. Use a hook a size or two smaller than normal for the yarn you choose, so that you make a tight fabric.
