“Pattern combines two yarns to create a warm jacket,” says Silverman. She uses a standard weight mohair (typically knitting up to 4 sts to 1”/2.5cm on a 5.5mm/US9 needle) and a smooth worsted weight (10 ply) yarn to result in a big plushy gauge. This, naturally, means your options are unlimited: either yarn could be solid or variegated, tweedy or marled, sparkly or subtle. You could use one combination on the sleeves and another on the body for a luxe version of an American baseball-style jacket. Armholes are well-carved and sleeve caps are high for an excellent fit across the shoulders.
