This is a 15 page tutorial for making a fabulous Advent calendar using tiny socks. Each sock is cleverly buttoned onto a knitted bunting which means that each year you use it you can move the socks around so the numbers are in a different place. The numbers are added using Swiss darning. You can hang your advent sock calendar along a wall, wrap it around a Christmas tree or even pin it to a cork board. If you’re feeling really generous you can give the socks as presents. They make great little keyrings!

The tutorial includes a written sock pattern for colour changing and singe colour socks, a written pattern for the bunting, a photo tutorial for short row heels, a photo tutorial for grafting the toe using Kitchener stitch, a photo tutorial for Swiss darning numbers including number charts to work from and written and photographic instructions for the Dorset buttons.

You will need approximately 1200m of 4ply yarn, 48 rings at 1.5cm diameter or 48 buttons, 3mm double pointed needles, a yarn needle.
