The beat up SUV wound down the narrow dirt road, following hairpin turns overshadowed by the thick forest canopy. The tires rumbled and slid at steep parts, even going slowly. Small, cream colored arrows were nailed to the occasional pine: LIGHTHOUSE. The GPS had left off a while ago, and this road resembled a driveway more than a street. Golden sunlight hovered like ghosts among the trees, slivers of light stationary amidst lush leaves and twisting branches. Ahead, a clearing! Whitewashed buildings with mossy granite foundations came into view. Across, to the left, a sunsaltfaded boardwalk leading straight out to the lighthouse. Adventure, found.

This hat is worked from the bottom up, seamlessly in the round. Sts are cast on provisionally, then joined to create a double brim. Hat crown is shaped with decreases at the brim.
