An adytum is a sacred space that the public are not free to enter. It is a sanctuary, a safe space. We all need our own adytum at some point in our lives and that was the inspiration for this pattern. This shawl is large and enveloping, warm and comforting. Wear it when you need your own safe space and feel soothed.

The pattern starts with 3 stitches and the stitch count increases every other row. A border of 5 stitches is used on each side of the scarf and the central section is comprised of an eyelet and faux-cable pattern. This central pattern is echoed in the finishing edge of the shawl.
