I had the great opportunity to visit one of the Greek islands in the beginning of October. As I had some sea-green yarn in my stash, I knitted like mad to have a cardigan ready for pictures with the Aegean sea as a back-drop.
I was so amazed to find the colour of the sea exactly the same as my yarn! It was too hot for wearing a cardigan for a long time, it went on just for the photographs. But now I am back in the Scandinavian start of winter and I will be wearing it loads:)

Construction
This cardigan is worked top-down and seamlessly.
The upper and lower body are worked flat (back-and-forth). You start the work from the ribbed neckline. After the ribbed edge an elevation is worked on the back to create a deeper neck on the front, thereafter you work the yoke in pattern. After the yoke-section the upper body is worked in stockinette sts, and with regular increases to underarms. Work is split for sleeves and lower body, and new sts are cast on for underarms. The lower body is worked flat. You finish off with a ribbed hem. The straight sleeves are worked top-down and in-the-round.
The cuffs are worked in rib-pattern. The button-bands are worked back-and-forth from picked-up sts.

Sizes
1 - chest circumference, when buttoned: 81/87/98/106/115/126/133/143 cm = 32/34.25/38.5/41.5/45/49/52.5/56”

Materials
Yarn: I recommend a DK weight yarn that knits up to gauge. I used No. 4 Organic Wool & Nettles from Onion to work my cardigan. This yarn comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 130 m/142 yards. Of this specific yarn you will need 715/820/925/1040/1160/1270/1390/1500 m = 780/895/1010/1135/1265/1385/1515/1635 yards to work the cardigan. Needles: Size 3.5 mm/US4 to work the ribbed neckline, the cuffs, the hem and the button-bands. Size 4 mm/US6 to work the upper body, the sleeves and the main body.
Notions Buttons, 2 cm/0.75” across. Separate holders. Waste-yarn. Scissors. Blunt tapestry needle. Blocking tools.

Gauge
21 sts and 25 – 26 rows/rounds in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.
