Instructions for traditional Afganistanian wool socks.

The pattern is for approximately size 38 socks (Europian size), but you can easily decrease or increase the amount of stitches in the chart.

The gauge is pretty approximate - better try the socks as you make them, or use the gauge you usually use in coloured knitting.

You will need two different colours of the yarn mentioned, about 100-150 grams each (more for very big or very long socks).

I’ve studied the pattern for these socks from an Afgan woman in my old job. We didn’t really share a language, so I made quick notes as she knitted - from right to left (I knit vise versa) and in a different kind of technique. But eventually I nailed it, and here’s the pattern for these lovely home socks. Unfortunately, for now on it’s only in Finnish.
